Roof renovation, loft conversions and dormers

For the roof, ZMD Innenausbau GmbH names three services: roof renovation, loft conversions and dormers.

Roof renovation

According to the company, the range extends from repairing damaged roof tiles to completely renewing the roof build-up. Roof renovation can be combined well with roof insulation.

Loft conversions

A loft conversion turns the roof space into living space, for example a bedroom, children’s room, study or guest room. In North Rhine-Westphalia, minimum clear heights apply to habitable rooms in the attic. If the structure or the external appearance changes, a permit from the building authority is required. Costs depend on the scope of the work.

Dormers

A dormer is a structure built onto the sloping roof surface. It brings light and additional usable space into the attic. As it usually increases the living area, planning permission is generally needed, and size and design are limited by building law.
